René Derhy.

After my last post I'd like to talk about something nicer and more pleasing :)
Some days ago, after having left my thesis to be printed, I decided to have a walk in the city centre to have a look at my favourite shops and to enjoy the first sun.
That day I found a cute shop in Via Po called René Derhy. I've seen it some time ago but I've never enterd for unkown reasons.
Well, that was love at first sight: from some romantic items to some minimal ones, good prices, polished pieces and a lovely owner who was so kind and helpful.
And, last but not least, they have new pieces directly from Paris each month!

See you in some days with a new video from...my closet ;)

The first bad experience in two years of blogging with Milan Fashion Week and Paola Frani.

 http://instagram.com/fashionandcostume#

Hi there :)
This is an unexpected, different and absolutely actual post about the world of blogging.
Yeah, two years later having started Fashion and Costume I have (finally?) found out the bad side of the coin.
That side that seemed not to exist, that side that many of us do not want to admit that exists: some stylists, some brands think about us as just a vehicle to gain advertising. Well, I worked with many of them and they're not all the same, fortunately. With many of them I felt so good and I'm always pleased to meet them again.

Buonasera blogsfera :)

We have to say it: we are bloggers. We are not journalists, we haven't studied anything related to fashion (oh, well, I haven't). So, we mustn't pretend or expect anything just because we get hundreds of invitations to fashion events.
And I believe in it.
I started from nothing, just as if I was playing, and in a short time everything began: I was in that extraordinary spiral of this fabulous world. I went to fashion shows, I worked with brands, I personally met stylists. And everything that came from my blog I thought it was a gorgeous gift, a dream that was going to be more and more real.
I never took anything for granted.

But I had to discover the bad side.
Yesterday, I went to Paola Frani's showroom for the presentation of her new collection. I want to say it before anything else: I met her two years ago and during this time I went to her fashion shows, to her press days, to her presentations and also to her cute initiative called PfHeritage. So, I always felt good with her and her events.
I was happy to go there again and I decided not to get to Milan some days later for another important event because I was more interested in hers and because I can't afford the tickets to Milan twice in a week since I'm not currently working.
With a blogger friend of mine, we went to the showroom and just in front of the door we found a guy who looked like a bouncer of a disco who, not so gently, asked who we were and, without having a list of nominatives, said to us that the presentation was over and looked straight at us just as if he was saying "Now, you can go away!".
I was angry. Really angry. Black angry (Do you say "black angry" in English?).
And I decided to write an email to the girl I usually have contacts with for every event.
What did she reply to me? She replied that her guy/bouncer was a polite boy (not with me and my friend, definitely) and that if we told him who we were he'd surely have asked her about us and she'd have let us visit the showroom.
But he simply preferred to "gently" invite us to go away. What a pity -ironic-.
I pointed out in the email that I work, I take pictures, I write, I PROMOTE their collections without asking anything back. Because I love my blog, I feel good with it, I love my "job" and I do not pretend anything.
But I definitely do not want they take me for a ride. I do not want they take all the work there's behind my blog for a ride.
I'm worth more than it and my blog is worth more than it.
And so? So, thank you Paola Frani for all the good experiences I had. But that's enough. I will not spend a cent more to be treated as I was yesterday.
No, thanks.

Ora, e questo l'ho fatto presente nell'email, io partecipo volentieri a questi eventi, fotografo, scrivo, PUBBLICIZZO senza mai chiedere o pretendere nulla in cambio.

I finish my post by saying that I'm so happy for Carolina Kostner's medal that she got today....She was gorgeous and I'm really happy for her, even if she deserved something more than a bronze one.

A big hug,
Ele.

First video up!

Guys, I'm so so so so so so excited to say that my first video is now up on YouTube :D
I'm a kind of timid person and I always wanted to start making video for my blog, but I never found "the right courage"...well, in this video I don't speak (I'm working to win also this kind of shyness and I hope to manage to very soon!!) and it's just a video to start using video making programs and stuff like that, so I hope to improve in a while :)
Let me think if you liked it and...follow me on YT!!

Wish you a nice Monday :)
xx
Elena

Best uniforms at Olympic Winter Games in Sochi!

 Carolina Kostner. Image from qn.quotidiano.net

While New York is hosting its gorgeous Fashion Week, I'm enjoying the Olympic Winter Games at home :)
By now, I've watched the opening ceremony, the women's single figure skating short program and some men's freestyle snowboard.
As soon as I started watching the opening ceremony, which was definitely amazing, I though about writing a post on the best uniforms worn and so, here I am :)
I have to say it, I'm not a big fan of sports such as sky, curling, luge or something like that, but I'm in love with women's figure skating (surprise-surprise) and snowboard (yeeeeeaaah, I've used it a couple times and I'm sooooo bad but I like watching it during the Olympic Games!)

This is Czech Republic's uniform: love the red and blue hearts on the white coat with golden details :)

This is Lithuania's one: I LOVE this green, it's so joyous!

And, of course, USA!! How couldn't I love their sweaters and white pants?!? Not so sure about the boots ;)

She's the beautiful Ashley Wagner, the American girl for women's figure skating..I love her dress, so elegant and sporty at the same time. And I like her, so nice :)

I love Carolina Kostner. She is technical, she is elegant (as no one else), she has a fabolous grace and she is Italian :) I loved her short program today. And her dress was gorgeous: white, brilliant, as elegant as her.....I'm wordless.

She's the cute Natalia Popova :) I love her dress, it's so ironic and elegant at the same time!

I really hope you'll like this different post :)
A big hug,
Ele.

Pieces of a Medley.

Hi guys!
Just came back from Fuerteventura (yes, that warm place I was talking about in my last posts). It was so nice to have a little break from all my works at the uni and the cold of the winter..
In a few days I'm going to upload MY FIRST VIDEO (yayyyyy!!!) about my gateway week and post some pics of my holiday :)
Anyway, here we are with a short post about a collection I made on Grabble, a cute website where you can add all items you like from an online shop and that tells you when they're on sale (sounds good, since I'm a kind of disorganized person!). This collection, called Pieces of a Medley, is inspired to Valentine's day. I'm not a real fan of this day but I'm a kind of romantic girl, specially when I have to choose clothes and accessories :)

Hola!
Questa collezione, chiamata Pieces of a Medley, è ispirata a San Valentino.

A sweet hug,
Ele.
